Just in case we have some Digimon fandom folks here. Another challenge I am organizing is for the month of August, given the significance that the month holds in the Digimon fandom. For that one I do not only have fanwork prompts, but also just questions for you to answer in your blogs! :)

DigiMemorial August 2025

Trying to revitalize the Digimon Fandom further with this account, I decided to try and organize another fandom event. You can do it one of two ways (or both), so that a lot of people can participate.

Every day has a question for everyone to answer - and a prompt for art or fanfics or whatever else you want to submit. (Like, you can also do picture collections or stuff like that. I am leaving this fully up to you! :D)

I am posting this today, so that everyone has about two months to prepare their stuff for this. Though obviously you can also post stuff for this after August. Especially as this account is going to be active throughout the year! :)

Rules

Any submission needs to be about Digimon of course.

You can submit NSFW stuff on the Ao3 collection (which I will open in July), though if you post it on tumblr I will not reblog it with this account, as this account is purely SFW.

Ideally you post your fanwork (if you do fanwork) on the days, though you can post it later.

On each day I will also make a post for the day - if you want to answer to the questions you will have a little reference pic for that!

As fanwork you can enter anything: fanart, fanfics, renders, gifs, aesthetics, whatever...

In light of the egregious actions carried out by the National Novel Writing Month organization, there has been a wide variety of different challenges created in order to keep the communal aspect of the challenge alive while distancing themselves from the official organization. This blog, at its most basic, is designed to be a hub in which various writing challenges are advertised so that the communal aspects of the writing community can continue in November and beyond. The spirit of Nanowrimo has long since expanded beyond the original group that began the challenge, and writers can (and should!) create their own spins on the idea.

With all of this in mind, I am proud to introduce the Writing Challenges Network!

However, this is not all that this could be. As it is the early days, I have set up a new discord, this tumblr, and a twitter page in the hopes of connecting writers to challenges throughout the year.

The writing community, as a whole, is welcoming and always wanting to lift each other up in reaching their goals. This network will hopefully be an avenue to provide those values to others and provide a place of connection. I would love anyone interested in fostering these values and are willing to brainstorm to please reach out! This is for the community, and thus should be shaped by and for all members of it.

I personally will be hosting quarterly writing challenges via another blog so that there are more challenges than just in November! If you are interested in the seasonal/quarterly challenge, the current @gothnowrimo will be happening in October and will have prompts, themes, and other fun posts to help get in the spooky writing spirit. The next one will be in February!

Hi! I decided to make a writing challenge for this summer because I'm trying to get back into writing more actively. While making some prompts for myself, I decided it could be fun to share them with other people. I'm sharing this now because I like to start writing early. 💚

The idea is that every other day in July you can pick from one of three prompts, a smut prompt, a non-smut prompt or a dialogue prompt.

Obviously, if you choose to participate, you don't have to write every other day. It's totally fine to pick and choose prompts as you go and post them on any day you want. Even after the challenge ends.

i've decided to try to do @the-slumberparty's December Daze advent calendar challenge, and i'm excited to get into the holiday spirit!! i feel like i don't normally write a lot of christmas/december holiday fics so this should be fun!! 🎄❄️

a couple notes: instead of doing every day like a true advent calendar, i'm aiming for every three days (mainly because i'm trying to be realistic and give myself room to work on other things at the same time). still, this is going to be a very loose posting schedule. also i'm deciding on characters as i go along so i'll add those in only once i've decided.

I've had this swirling in my brain for a bit—so for my upcoming birthday, a long overdue follower celebration, and 3 year blog anniversary, I'm hosting another writing challenge with a touch of my favorite thing in the world, horror films.

You are free to pair your favorite blorbo of choosing with whatever sub-genre and location you pick! I am primarily a Pedro writer as I know most of my mutuals are, but this is open to whoever you fancy to write for as long as it is not RPF!

Information on sub-genres will be linked under the read more (with the number of locations listed 1-5) and the location reveals are as they are requested, but are not reserved to one person. If you see a revealed location you like, feel free to request that number or not, totally up to you! Shoot me a DM if you’re having trouble or confused! Also, nothing is set in stone, if you’d like to switch things up just clarify with me first!

We are dark fic/content friendly here, so let the creativity lead you. Please don't be afraid to touch on taboo tropes or kinks. I just ask that you tag appropriately! The kink list for roll-a-kink will be under the read more if you’re interested in getting assigned a specific one! It’s a random draw!

Unsure how to request? Here's an example: "Hi, could I please grab Erotic Horror #1?" Want to add Deleted Scenes for roll-a-kink? Ask like this: “Hi, can I request Slasher Horror #2 + Deleted Scenes?"

You will receive a moodboard for your location upon requesting your number, all locations are themed to each category. As this is horror, that element and the location is the only requirement as you begin creating! If you've been wanting to write something spooky or horror-related, consider this a sign!

There is no minimum or maximum on word limit for fics, write until you’re content!

This will have a tentative due date of May 16th, but that is no deadline. It is when I will be posting the masterlist of entries, but you can post before or after (it will be updated accordingly). I want this to be fun and as free of pressure as possible!

Writecamp Day 6 ⛺

I'm late posting this since I had a pretty big day, but had to get it up. 🙂

Rules: choose a prompt (or as many of them as you like) from this list, write something and share your creation with the rest of writeblr, and share the game with others, because as we all know writing is a gift and it deserves to be shared!

For the Day 6 prompt I chose the narration prompt: "The day. as brutal, as bloody, as soul-wrenching as it was, was finally done."

Once again, this is a passage from my main WIP, my YA Dystopia The Blood Cleaners. This passage happens right before the scene I posted on Day 4 😲This is the start of Chapter 47 of Draft 2, pretty late in the story (border of Act 2 and Act 3!)

The day. as brutal, as bloody, as soul-wrenching as it was, was finally done. Justin basked in comfort to know that lives were saved after a strenuous day of helping out the lil brigade. Never would he have thought he’d see lils in their fully fed form, plump with blood and large as a Great Dane. He wanted to steal a moment to speak with the mayor, but each minute only gave the choice to rescue another life or to steal away. Tomorrow would have to be another day. He hated each day that passed by. He was ready to return to his bed in Naomi’s house, though not before having dinner with her. 

He finally enjoyed her chili as he seated at the ornate carved table next to the central stove. 

Linda sat next to him. Her round dark eyes stared at him. 

Justin scowled. It was enough to live with the guilt of his betrayal. After a lifetime of being taught that fate was fiction, he knew the inevitable. He would have to tell Joselyn the truth. He’d have to promise to mend her broken heart. The last thing he needed was for yet another girl to taunt his attention.

He raised his eyebrows like an angry dog. “WHAT!”

Linda slid down the bench. She grasped her shirt, her lips quivering. 

Naomi got up from her weaving loom. She called out something to Linda in Navajo.

Justin sighed, ashamed. “I’m sorry, lady. I didn’t mean to be mean to your granddaughter.” On any ordinary day he would have laughed at his pun. It was not an ordinary day.

Naomi and Linda exchanged a few more words, ending with Linda sleuthing up to their bed.

Naomi stepped up to Justin. “Not your fault. She’s just lonely.”

Justin lay his head on the table, grunting. 

Naomi patted his shoulder. “I haven’t known you long, but I’m the wise woman of our people. If you need healing, I'm here for you.”

He shook his head. “I’m sorry. I’m tired. I have a lot to do tomorrow.”
